چکیده

Patients with diabetes mellitus may experience peripheral neuropathy and extremity system impairment, which lead to ulceration if the treatments are delayed. Diabetic ulcers, unfortunately, chronic, require proper treatments, including debridement bacterial removal using an irrigation device. To date, commercial devices included pulsed-lavage, bulb syringe, gravity bags. Unfortunately, have limitations in terms of portability, measurability, controllability, disposability. tackle limitations, this study aims design, fabricate, characterize automated portable wound device (Apdice), is controllable non-disposable, portable. The was designed fabricated a lightweight construction, rechargeable battery, non-disposable materials support portability means. Meanwhile, proportional-derivative-integral controller its components were featured enable controllability. Furthermore, also tested regarding contamination particle counter, appeared be free. In short, Apdice showed robust technological performance. However, it worth try test against biological agents guarantee biocompatibility device.

Developing a Device for Automated Peritoneal Dialysis

Background: Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an efficient alternative for hemodialysis. Removal of waste metabolites and excess water from the blood circulation are the two main tasks done during dialysis. These are done by using a filter; in PD, the naturally semi-permeable peritoneal membrane acts as the filter. Automated PD machines control intelligently the operations to enhance the efficiency a...

Wound Fluid Diagnostics in Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Wound fluid seems -at least theoreticallyeasily accessible and might open a new window to the local wound microenvironment that cannot be evaluated by the analysis of serum or plasma markers. Recently, this strategy has been supported by a first time wound fluid proteome analysis comparing acute and chronic wounds (Eming et al. 2010). Interestingly, there seem to be essential differences with r...
